Beth Collar (b. 1982, Cambridge, UK) lives and works in Berlin, Germany. She received her MA in Sculpture from the Royal College of Art, London; a Postgraduate Diploma in Drawing from The Prince’s Drawing School, London; and a BA (Hons) in Fine Art from London Metropolitan University.

Beth Collar is a sculptor and interdisciplinary artist whose work spans wood carving, ceramics, drawing, video, and performance, and is rooted in a mythosomatic approach. Combining myth, body, material, and memory, she examines how identity is shaped through objects and belief systems. Her sculptures often explore the lingering resonance of inherited imagery, particularly within Christian iconography, and how collective and personal histories are embedded in material forms. Collar’s process is both performative and archaeological, part method acting and part experimental reconstruction, using embodied research to surface culturally and emotionally submerged narratives.

Her first solo exhibition at the gallery, Intersessions, took place in November 2024. Other recent solo exhibitions include Neuer Berliner Kunstverein, Berlin (2024); Westfälischer Kunstverein, Münster (2023); Sundy, London (2022); Sadie Coles HQ, London (2022); Zarinbal Khoshbakht, Cologne (2021); Matt’s Gallery and CGP, London (2019); Mathew Gallery, New York (2018); Primary, Nottingham (2018); and the Institute of Contemporary Art, London (2015). Her solo performances have been presented at KW, Berlin (2021); CentrumCentrum, Szczecin (2020); and the Serpentine Galleries, London (2015).

Notable group exhibitions include Art Hub Copenhagen, Copenhagen (2025); Galerie Khoshbakht x Galeria Wschód, New York (2024); Haus am Waldsee, Berlin (2024, 2023); Neuer Berliner Kunstverein, Berlin (2024); Sweetwater, Berlin (2022); Shared Space, Tbilisi (2022); Galerie Martin Janda, Vienna (2021); Zarinbal Khoshbakht, Cologne (2021); A plus A, Venice (2021); Von Ammon Co, Washington D.C.
