Yoora Park (b. 1991, Ulsan, South Korea) is a South Korean artist based between Düsseldorf, Germany, and Seoul, South Korea. She graduated from the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf in 2020, where she studied with Professor Trisha Donnelly.
Yoora Park’s works operate at the intersection of sound, object, and environment, where the boundaries between the sonic and the material dissolve. Sound serves as the central element and starting point of her practice, transforming into sculptures that engage with physical space and its material resonances. Guided by reflections on perception, Park’s installations explore sound as a physical phenomenon—vibrations and pressures that move through air and skin, revealing its invisible yet activating presence. Her works open a socio-political dimension, showing how sound, as an immaterial and invisible force, can shape social conventions and hidden forms of agency.
Her first solo exhibition at the gallery, Trotting horse with head tilted to the left…, took place in June 2024. Other recent solo exhibitions include Artothek, Cologne (2023); and Galerie Löwengasse, Cologne (2022). The gallery also presented her work in the group exhibitions Portrait and Portrait II, held in Cologne and New York (2025). Further group exhibitions include Kunstverein Gastgarten e.V., Hamburg (2025); Parloir, Milan (2025); Städtisches Museum Wesel, Wesel (2021); and K21 – Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen, Düsseldorf (2021).
Yoora Park is the recipient of the Peter Mertes Stipendium (2023), the Chargesheimer Stipendium für Medienkunst (2023), the Young Artist’s Award – Freunde der KHM (2022), and the Scholarship of the Purcell School of Music (2006–2010). Her work is part of the permanent collection of K21 – Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen, Düsseldorf.
